Early Life

Tumi Masemola is a South African N.Sotho (Pedi) girl that was born and raised in Soweto, South Africa on the 3rd of May 1982. Growing up for her wasn’t the best because she lacked some of the basic needs.

Although she is still very thankful for everything she has, the thespian once took to her Instagram page to appreciate her parents for all the care and love they showed her while she was just a little girl.

She said, “It was a dreadful experience.” I never expected to go back to where I started from, but it was a choice I had to make.” she also revealed that she went to live with her mother after the incident.

According to Tumi Masemola, she said, “It’s challenging living with her mom because she couldn’t live the luxurious life she was used to, in her mom’s house.” When you achieve a certain level of success, you get obsessed with it. You believe you are superior to others and take certain things and people for granted.” This experience humbled me and changed my outlook on life, she narrated.

Career

Tumi Masemola made a solo debut in 2015, releasing two singles, titled Sugar Free, featuring Nadia Nakai and BAE with Kwesta.

She formed the band group of Instrumentals in 2017, and they published three albums: ‘Kasi Flava,’ ‘Salute,’ and ‘Round 3‘. The group she formed had groundbreaking successes.

Some of their works that were topping charts include ‘Woza December‘ and ‘My Number One,’ and in 2009, they were given a SAMA (South African Music Award) for the best urban-pop album.
