Julia Michaels joins Justin Bieber and BloodPop for 'Friends' remix

Julia Michaels is the superb songwriter behind some of your favourite songs, including Selena Gomez’s ‘Hands To Myself’, Nick Jonas’ ‘Close’, and Ed Sheeran’s ‘Dive’, to name but a few.

One of her most recent co-writes is the infectious ‘Friends’ by Justin Bieber and BloodPop, so when we heard that a remix featuring her vocals was going to drop, we were beside ourselves.

With Julia having co-written the song, we were excited to hear her take on the song, and rightfully so. Kicking off the first verse, Julia’s instantly recognisable vocal gives the song a new lease of life before Justin continues with the chorus. Their voices intertwine perfectly in the latter half, whilst we also get to hear Julia tackle the chorus, adding her own emotion to the song.

Take a listen to the ‘Friends’ remix below.

Since January, Julia has captured our hearts as a singer as well as a songwriter, after launching her solo career with her debut track ‘Issues’. Combining her distinctive vocal with a truly unique sound, she has proved to the world that she is a force to be reckoned with.

‘Issues’ was followed by ‘Uh Huh’ and an EP called Nervous System, which further showcased Julia’s gift as a singer and songwriter. She also recently collaborated with Maroon 5 on their new album track, ‘Help Me Out’.

Whilst we’ll be playing the ‘Friends’ remix on repeat for the foreseeable, we can expect even more new music from Julia next week. Teaming up with electronic trio Clean Bandit, ‘I Miss You’ will drop on October 27. Julia shared on Twitter that she wrote the song by herself to the band’s Jack Patterson’s piano playing.

Clean Bandit have stormed the charts with their previous tracks, ‘Rockabye’ featuring Anne-Marie and Sean Paul, and ‘Symphony’ featuring Zara Larsson, so we have high hopes for this collaboration.

Having been ‘behind the scenes’ for so long, it’s amazing to see Julia Michaels getting the success she deserves as a singer. 2018 looks set to be just as incredible for her, as she will be touring the UK and Europe with Niall Horan.
